The Tutankhamun’s famous Tomb, and the massive gold he left behind. King Tut died unexpectedly, even prior to his tomb being completed and his corpse was placed in a smaller tomb that was originally intended for another person. However, no cost was spared with things to accompany him in the afterlife. The tomb was packed with objects the young king has used during his life, from clothing, weapons, jewelry, the majority of it is in solid gold, chariots, masks, as well as items required for the afterlife. The massive amount of gold used, shows, or showed the wealth of Egypt at the time, where gold was plentiful.
The funerary mask of King Tutankhamun was made of solid gold, beaten and burnished, and is inlaid with semiprecious stones. It weighs 24 lbs and used to cover the head and shoulders of the king’s mummy.
