Day 1

Arrive in Cairo where you will be met by your Egypt tour Tours manager, who will assist you. Transfer to Cairo Sheraton for an overnight stay.

Sphinx and Pyramid Egypt

Day 2

Meet with your Egypt Tours guide. Start your tour by visiting the Pyramids of Giza. Khufu's Pyramid, the largest of the three was built in the 4th dynasty about 2960 B.C., one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. In front of the Pyramid of Khephre is the Sphinx. Carved from a single piece of stone, it is a lion's body with a Pharaoh's head thought to be a portrait of the Pharaoh Khephre. You may enjoy a camel ride by the pyramids area if you wish. Continue your tour by visiting the Egyptian museum famous for its antiquities from Egypt's Pharaonic period dating back some 50-centuries, including the fabulous treasures of King Tutankhamen. The afternoon will consist of an excursion to old Cairo, visiting the very Old Coptic churches, and the oldest Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra. After, you will visit the Citadel of Salah-El-Din, the Mohammed Ali Mosque, and the Medieval Bazaars of Khan-El-Khalili where you can bargain for Egyptian souvenirs, jewelry, hand-tooled copper and leather items, and much more. Return to your hotel, overnight.

Day 3

Meet early with your Egypt Tours manager and transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will be met by our Egypt tour escort and embark on your Nile cruise ship. Later, you will visit "Felucca" the Elephantine island, the Mausoleum of Agha Khan, and the Botanical Gardens. You will stay overnight on-board your Nile cruise ship.

Day 4

Visit the High Dam, The Granite Quarries, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Continue Nile cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Kom Ombo, which was dedicated to two gods: the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. Sail to Edfu. Overnight on board.

Day 5

Continue on your Nile cruise to Edfu to see The Temple of Horus, the best-preserved Egyptian temple. The temple was built in the Ptolemaic Kingdom between 237 and 57 BC. The inscriptions on its walls provide important information on language, myth, and religion during the Hellenistic period in Egypt. Sail to Luxor. Overnight on board.

Day 6

Cross to the West Bank. Visit the Valley of the Kings where 64 pharaohs have been discovered - enter one of the two depending on time. Also visit the Valley of the Queen's, including The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari. See the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, visit the temple of Karnak, which took over 1500 years to build and is considered the world's largest religious complex. Next, explore the temple of Luxor, which was started by Amenhotep III and was completed by Ramses II. Disembark your cruise ship, where you will be met and transferred to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you will be met by your Egypt Tours manager, and transferred to your hotel, the Cairo Sheraton, for an overnight stay.

Day 7

Meet with your Egypt Tours manager and transferred to Cairo Airport where you will be helped with your check-in for your departure flight.

Abu Simbel

Optional Abu-Simbel Excursion

*This will take place during your stay in Aswan

**Airfare to and from Abu-Simbel is included

Visit the Great Temple of Ramses II, hewn in the rock, with four colossal seated statues of the king in front of the entrance. It was dedicated to Amun Ra, the Horakhti, and Ramses II. Then visit the Queen’s temple, the Temple of Nefertari. The entire temple site was threatened by the waters upon completion of the Aswan High Dam, and has been preserved by International action organized by "UNESCO." All of the parts of the temple have been sectioned, cut, removed from the original site, and reassembled on higher ground.

Also Included: All transfers within Egypt, personalized sight-seeing (as mentioned in itinerary) in a private car with a tour guide and driver. Entrance fees to all sights mentioned and the services of a professional English speaking guide. Service charges imposed by hotels, porterage, cruise port charges, meeting and assistance at airports, hotels and docks are also included.
